billion in 2020. The wellness industry has surpassed all the major industries. The wellness supplements market is expected to gain 386.29
billion by 2027, growing at a CAGR of 6.45% (Source: Data bridge market
research)
Especially
during COVID and post-COVID, there is a tremendous increase in the consumption
of supplements. Most supplements claim to be immune boosters,
immunity enhancers, etc. Does any
supplement enhance strength, immunity, and energy overnight? As usual, people
are becoming scapegoats for these companies and spending billions and trillions
on these supplements and inviting new health problems. Health and wellness are
two broad categories.
Today, we have 4 types of
knowledge givers.
Acquired Knowledge: People
try to share knowledge, which is acquired either from neighbor experiences, from any other sources like social media, or from family members who have no
scientific data or clinical evidence. Which they tend to present. Very less
reliability.
Academicians: Qualified in
their respective fields, with proven experience and sound scientific knowledge.
They give us reliable and scientifically proven data and guidance.
Celebrity knowledge: Whether
scientific or not, whether reliable or not, people just follow blindly.
Tried and Tested Knowledge: There are some ancient home remedies that people have been following for many years. Grandmother and great-grandmother remedies have been used by us for many generations. We call them simple home remedies. Although it may not have clinical studies, it is followed by many generations and has less risk and less harm.
Everyone must understand
the primary source of knowledge givers before adopting them into their daily
lives.
Wellbeing is a keyword coined by the WHO that can
be defined as: “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and
not merely the absence of disease or. infirmity”.
In day-to-day
wellness, there will be 3 segments to describe precisely.
Prevention stage / well-balanced stage: In this stage, people try to prevent themselves
from disease or lifestyle disorders. Trying to stay strong physically and
emotionally.
Treatment stage: Diagnosed with disease and undergoing
treatment for either Allopathy or any other alternate medicine.
Maintenance Stage: After treatment, maintenance is a very important stage where one needs to take steps to maintain good health
further.
Everyone has different Nutritional Requirements and needs in these three stages, but one thing in common is “Food.” What we eat today decides our tomorrow.
